Refugee Care Collective Meeting Recap-

Key Takeaways:

  • In the last three months, Oregon has welcomed close to 400 individuals from Afghanistan. By mid-February, we will reach 750 Afghan arrivals, and are then expecting an additional 450 people by the end of September.
  • We are also expecting to welcome some families this year from Iraq, Syria, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ukraine, and Myanmar.
  • This year, Refugee Care Collective will distribute over 2,000 restart kits, come alongside at least 55 additional families and over 20 youth through year-long mentorship, and continue meeting immediate one-time needs through emergency relief support.
  • As our resettlement agency partners, Salah Ansary from LCSNW and Matthew Westerbeck from Catholic Charities, shared: It takes a village to resettle a refugee family, and they will forever remember and be appreciative of your support.

We are expanding each of our programs to meet the increased needs of newly arriving families.

Thank you for your care of our new neighbors. We are grateful for all that’s made possible through this community.
