Description
Spring 2024: April 1 to June 19 Summer 2024: June 26 to September 8 ESL classes are in person and by zoom; Levels 1-4. Hood River in person Tuesday and Thursday; Monday and Wednesday at The Dalles campus: 6:00-8:20pm. Online Zoom classes on Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday 6:00-8:20pm. Cost is $25 per class. For more information call 541-380-0947. GED classes are offered for Math, Language Arts, Science and Social Studies. Classes in personal at the The Dalles on Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday 9:00 am to 11:20 am. On line Zoom classes are Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday 5:30 - 7:50 pm. Spanish GED classes are in person on Monday and Wednesday at Hood River or Tuesday and Thursday at The Dalles; both 6:00 - 8:50 pm. Cost is $25 per class. Gorge Literacy provides free tutors for ABE, GED, ESOL, Citizenship, Digital Literacy, Classroom Assistance. Call Kelly Wiley at 541-506-6042 to set up appointment.

- Time Commitment: We recommend three hours per week (usually two 1-1/2 hour sessions). Assignment could be 1:1 tutoring or as a classroom assistant. Materials and instructional guidance are provided by Gorge Literacy staff. Prior to being matched with a learner, volunteers attend a 1/2 day training.
