Free ESL classes by zoom. You need to pre-register and take a placement test. Call 503-338-2557 or email epurcell@clatsopcc.edu. For Spanish call 503-338-2557 Percy.
These classes are open to all. There are also free tutors to help you learn and practice.

Classes are held In Astoria, Seaside or online (Zoom) depending on the class.

    Volunteer Information

  • Coordinator: Eileen Purcell, Volunteer Literacy Coordinator
  • Contact: 503-338-2557; epurcell@clatsopcc.edu; go to the college website under Volunteer Literacy to sign up.
  • Time Commitment: 1 to 2 hours per week. Students and community members interested in assisting those learning to read and to speak English can participate in the volunteer literacy tutor program. Trainings are offered throughout the year (there are 2 three-hour sessions each year) and focus on both adult literacy and English Language Learning. Trained volunteers are matched with eager learners. For more information call the Volunteer Literacy Coordinator at 503-338-2557.
