Spring 2021 term starts March 29 - June 11. All classes online; tuition is $25.
ESL classes are from Level 1 to Level 5; GED classes are offered for Math, Language Arts, Science and Social Studies. Go to the school website https://www.cgcc.edu to see the list of all the classes and the days and times. Contact 541-308-8211 for English as a Second Language and 541-308-8243 in Hood River and 541-506-6041 for The Dalles for GED.
ESL classes varies by level: classes are Level 4 and 5 Tu-TH 9:00am - 12:00; Level 1 to 5 on MON/WEDW 6:00-9:00PM or TU/TH 6:00-9:00. GED Prep are offered both mornings 9:00am-11:30 and evenings 5:30 - 8:00PM, Classes are two days per week, either M/W or Tu/TH. There are also ABE - pre-college prep courses during the same time period.
GED class time varies by subject: classes are M/W 5:30-8:30, TU/TH 9:00-11:30, Tu/TH 5:30-8:30.

Type of Assignment: one-to-one tutoring
Time Slots Needed: Times are flexible as we try to match the learner with the tutor. Class periods can be from 8:00AM to 8:00PM, Monday to Friday
Time Commitment Requested: We recommend three hours per week (usually two 1-1/2 hour sessions). Assignment could be 1:1 tutoring or as a classroom assistant. Materials and instructional guidance are provided by Gorge Literacy staff. Prior to being matched with a learner, volunteers attend a 1/2 day training.
