Fall classes are online and start September 28, 2020 to December 4, 2020. ESL classes are from Level 1 to Level 5; GED classes are offered for Math, Language Arts, Science and Social Studies. Gorge Literacy provides free tutoring services to adult learners within Columbia Gorge. Tutoring for reading, writing, basic math, English conversation, GED preparation, life and work skills and citizenship. Type of Assignment: one-to-one tutoring
Time Slots Needed: Times are flexible as we try to match the learner with the tutor. Class periods can be from 8:00AM to 8:00PM, Monday to Friday
Time Commitment Requested: We recommend three hours per week (usually two 1-1/2 hour sessions). Assignment could be 1:1 tutoring or as a classroom assistant. Materials and instructional guidance are provided by Gorge Literacy staff. Prior to being matched with a learner, volunteers attend a 1/2 day training.
